Today, as I've been doing the last, I don't know, decade, I ask you, what's your favorite podcast?
Dave JacksonBut really what I'm asking is why?
Dave JacksonBecause as content creators, we want to make content that resonates with people in a way that inspires them to tell a friend.
Dave JacksonAnd so I asked you, what's your favorite podcast?
Dave JacksonTell us a little bit about it and tell us why it's your favorite podcast.
Dave JacksonAnd then of course, I always share the stage.
Dave JacksonTell us a little bit about your show and where we can find it.
Dave JacksonAnd this is the 2024 version and I've not heard these yet, so we're going to listen to them together.
Dave JacksonHit it, ladies.
Dave JacksonThe school of podcasting with Dave Jackson.
Dave JacksonPodcasting since 2005, I am your award winning hall of Fame PODC coach, Dave Jackson.
Dave JacksonThanking you so much for tuning in.
Dave JacksonIf you are new to the show, I help you plan, I help you launch, I help you grow.
Dave JacksonAnd if you want to monetize your podcast, my website is schoolofpodcasting.com use the coupon code listnr when you sign up for either a monthly or yearly subscription.
Dave JacksonAnd so we're gonna hop right into it.
Dave JacksonI asked you, what's your favorite podcast and why?
Dave JacksonThe tricky part, and I know is that, well, you only get to pick one.
Dave JacksonSo we're gonna start off, as we often do, with the one and only Steve Stewart.
Dave JacksonYou can find him at stevestewart Me.
Dave JacksonHe is the man behind the Podcast Editors Academy.
Dave JacksonTake it away, Mr.
Dave JacksonStewart.
Ron EastwoodHey, SOP family.
Ron EastwoodIt's Steve Stewart, podcast editor for personal finance podcasters and now co host of the Podcast Editors Mastermind show, which we just started hosting that show starting in November of 2024 here with my favorite podcast of all time.
Ron EastwoodWell, we'll say of 2024, but it's been my favorite podcast for many years.
Ron EastwoodIt's still the Stacking Benjamin Show.
Ron EastwoodIf you don't know the Stacking Benjamin show yet, I highly recommend it.
Ron EastwoodThe show is released three days a week.
Ron EastwoodThey're about an hour long or more, but it's a variety show about every 15 minutes the hosts go into something different, whether it's a headline or.
Ron EastwoodOr they're talking about something that somebody put out on TikTok with some really great or usually bad advice about money.
Ron EastwoodThey have a guest interview on most days Friday episodes.
Ron EastwoodThey have a roundtable discussion around a blog post or something like that, which really gets to be, well, kind of hilarious at times, hearing the different viewpoints of each person.
Ron EastwoodOn the Roundtable.
Ron EastwoodSo this isn't a how to.
Ron EastwoodAlthough there is a lot of learning that can be done listening to the Stacking Management show, but it is definitely what money nerds like.
Ron EastwoodSo if you want to learn about personal finance in a nice, lighthearted way, go check out the Stacking Benjamin Show.
Ron EastwoodYou can find them@stackingbenjamins.com Beware.
Ron EastwoodThree days a week, one hour each.
Ron EastwoodIt's a lot, but if you just want to check out one episode, I recommend trying the roundtable discussion from December 13th.
Ron EastwoodYeah, Friday the 13th.
Ron EastwoodAlthough it had nothing to do with Friday the 13th.
Ron EastwoodGo back, listen to that episode because I have never edited more laughter in my life.
Ron EastwoodAnd it's not like a whole bunch of inside jokes that you won't get.
Ron EastwoodIf you've never listened to the Stacking Benjamin show, you'll still get the jokes.
Ron EastwoodYou're still part of the of the fun.
Ron EastwoodCheck out the December 13, 2024 episode of the Stacking Benjamin show at stackingbenjamins.com this has been Steve Stewart, your friend, podcast editor of personal finance podcasts, and now co host of the Podcast Editors Mastermind show, which of course you can find in your favorite podcast app.
Ron EastwoodThanks, Dave.
Dave JacksonThank you, Steve.
Dave JacksonAnd yes, the Stacking Benjamin show is a great example of just coloring way outside the box without leaving the box.
Dave JacksonLike they're still talking finances, but they're, they're doing it in a very creative, very entertaining kind of way.
Dave JacksonHey David, Ralph from the Ask Ralph show, your daily dose of financial wisdom.
Ron EastwoodFrom a Christian perspective.
Dave JacksonYou can find my podcast@ask Ralph.com Again, that's Ask Ralph.com and you asked a.
Ron EastwoodQuestion this month is what is your favorite podcast?
Dave JacksonAnd I got to say, my favorite podcast of 2024 was Ask the Podcast Coach.
Ron EastwoodAnd I know you know where to find that.
Ron EastwoodBut the reason I say that is.
Dave JacksonIt blends several elements that I really appreciate in podcasting.
Ron EastwoodIt is all about interacting with the audience through the live show.
Ron EastwoodIf you missed a live show, you.
Dave JacksonCan check it out as a podcast afterwards.
Ron EastwoodBut I gotta be honest, it is the place where I have really gotten a lot of knowledge during 2024.
Ron EastwoodIt's helped this podcaster grow into a.
Dave JacksonBetter podcaster and I really enjoy the interaction with the people who are there every week.
Dave JacksonAnd when I miss a week, I feel like I've missed out.
Ron EastwoodSo I go and listen to that first thing on Monday morning.
Dave JacksonSo anyway, my favorite podcast of the year, Ask the Podcast Coach.
Dave JacksonAnd Dave, keep up the good Work.
Ron EastwoodAnd I wish you and everyone else.
Dave JacksonListening a very, very prosperous 2025.
Dave JacksonThere you go.
Dave JacksonThank you, Ralph.
Dave JacksonAnd if you're not aware, that is a show I do every Saturday.
Dave JacksonWe do have a lot of fun.
Dave JacksonAnd for more information about Ralph, if you want to, especially if you're running your podcast as a business, you got to check out the Ask Ralph podcast.
Dave JacksonHe's been doing finances for decades.
Dave JacksonMultiple, multiple decades.
Dave JacksonAnd he's a great guy.
Dave JacksonThank you so much, Ralph.
Ron EastwoodHey, Dave, it's Randy Black, the host of Bible Bites.
Dave JacksonIf I had to pick a podcast.
Ron EastwoodThat would define as my favorite for 2024, I'm going to go with the same one I've had for several years.
Dave JacksonAnd that is no Agenda, hosted by.
Ron EastwoodAdam Podfather Curry and John C.
Ron EastwoodDvorak.
Dave JacksonNo Agenda takes the media, breaks down.
Ron EastwoodWhat they're saying, and shows us why what it is they're saying may not always be in our best interest.
Ron EastwoodIf you get a chance, you can.
Dave JacksonGo check it out.
Ron EastwoodHead over to noagendashow.net Again, this is.
Dave JacksonRandy Black, the host of Bible Bytes.
Ron EastwoodE Y T E S because I'm a techie geek like that.
Ron EastwoodAnd you can find the show@bible-bytesbytes.com thank you, Randall.
Dave JacksonYeah, Randall's one of those guys that Ralph was talking about, is in the chat room of Ask the Podcast Coach.
Dave JacksonBut yeah, Bible Bites, it's your virtual Sunday school inspiring faith one bite at a time.
Dave JacksonAnd again, because Randy's a nerd, bite is byte links to everyone will be out in the show notes@schoolofpodcasting.com 964 and I also will say, the one thing I like about the no Agenda show is number one, they have 900,000 people listening to their episodes or something ridiculous like that.
Dave JacksonAnd they're from all over the world.
Dave JacksonAnd when you just take a single story and look at it from the US media and then look at it from the UK media and then the Canadian media and the Australian media, it's really, really interesting.
Dave JacksonSo, yeah, that's a great show.
Dave JacksonThat is not easily copied.
Dave JacksonLet's throw it over to Kim.
Ron EastwoodHi, Dave.
Ron EastwoodThis is Kim Newlove from the Pharmacist Voice podcast and the Perrysburg Podcast.
Ron EastwoodMy favorite show of 2024 is the erectile Dysfunction Radio Podcast, which you can find@enrectioniq.com Now, I know that this title sounds PG13, but just to give you some background on the show, this is a sex therapist talking to an audience of people who are trying to learn about erectile dysfunction.
Ron EastwoodIt's nothing to giggle about.
Ron EastwoodI know that many people really struggle with it, men and then their spouses or partners by extension.
Ron EastwoodSo I want to recommend this to your listeners.
Ron EastwoodEvery single time an episode dropped, I was listening to it.
Ron EastwoodI used this podcast as prep work or research for two podcast episodes on my own show in 2024.
Ron EastwoodOne of the episodes was in February for Valentine's Day.
Ron EastwoodWe were talking about PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra.
Ron EastwoodAnd the other episode I was prepping for was in November, November 2024 and it was a Men's Health Awareness Month episode.
Ron EastwoodWe were talking about the erectile dysfunction that men experience post prostatectomy.
Ron EastwoodThis is a group of people who have had their prostate removed due to prostate cancer.
Ron EastwoodAlthough I was a listener for clinical reasons, I can see how this podcast would benefit many, many people, men and women alike.
Ron EastwoodSo that's a little bit about the Erectile dysfunction radio podcast.
Ron EastwoodAgain, you can find that@enrectioniq.com if you are in need of the content of that podcast.
Ron EastwoodI wish you well and I definitely recommend that you listen again.
Ron EastwoodThis is Kim Newlove from the Pharmacist's Voice Podcast and the Perrysburg Podcast.
Ron EastwoodA little bit about both of those shows.
Ron EastwoodThe first podcast is the Pharmacist's Voice Podcast which you can find@the pharmacistvoice.com we talk about pharmacy topics and careers so my audience feels connected to the profession of pharmacy and inspired to contribute to it.
Ron EastwoodAfter all, I am an Ohio licensed pharmacist.
Ron EastwoodThe second show that I run is the Perrysburg Podcast.
Ron EastwoodI live in a small town called Perrysburg, Ohio and I created the podcast that I needed when I moved to town back in 2007.
Ron EastwoodYou can find the Perrysburg Podcast at perrisburgpodcast.com it's an informational podcast for prospective new and current Harrysburg, Ohio residents.
Ron EastwoodWe talk about what's in Harrisburg and why people like to live here.
Ron EastwoodHappy New Year everybody and happy podcasting.
Dave JacksonThank you Kim.
Dave JacksonYeah, I think local podcasting is something that's going to be even more on the rise in the future.
Dave JacksonI just see where local media.
Dave JacksonI'll give you an example.
Dave JacksonIf I look at the newspaper for Akron, Ohio, it's almost the exact same stuff as Cleveland or not.
Dave JacksonWell, Cleveland, true, but Cleveland is also the same as Columbus.
Dave JacksonIt's like there's very little actual local news coverage, which is really sad because that means all the politicians can do whatever they want.
Dave JacksonAnd because that was Kim Newlove.
Dave JacksonAnd in a couple questions of the months ago, she said, you should say more what you're using.
Dave JacksonSo right now I'm talking into the Rode podmic USB into a Rodecaster, which I've been tweaking my noise gate because it's driving me nuts with my furnace coming on and off.
Dave JacksonSo hopefully that's not super noticeable.
Dave JacksonAnd right now I am using the Dialogue Enhance plugin from Accentize.
Dave JacksonAnd what that does is right now, as I click on it, it's pulling a heck a lot of mids out of my voice.
Dave JacksonBut it's supposed to automatically EQ everybody.
Dave JacksonAnd as you might imagine on this kind of show, I need that.
Dave JacksonAnd then I'm using also from Accentize DX Revive Pro, which will cut out any kind of room noise and reverb.
Dave JacksonNow that is not a cheap plugin, but I'm here to tell you I do audio from people that don't know how to record audio in a decent way.
Dave JacksonAnd that has saved me so much time.
Dave JacksonAnd then just for some sweetener, I'm running it through waves GW voice centric, just to add a little bit of sheen because sometimes the noise reduction gets a little aggressive.
Dave JacksonSo we put some of that back on.
Dave JacksonBut thank you so much, Kim.
Dave JacksonAnd I didn't even mention the why of that show.
Dave JacksonObviously really helpful because the people that are in that situation need some information.
Dave JacksonThey're like, you know, again, a lot of snickering could be done here, but when you're like, nope, let's be adults and let's talk about what our options are here and what's working and what's not, that is hugely helpful.
Dave JacksonAnd again, are you going to get that on tv?
Dave JacksonNo.
Dave JacksonAre you going to get it in a newspaper?
Dave JacksonNo.
Dave JacksonAre you going to get it in a magazine?
Dave JacksonMaybe.
Dave JacksonBut in the end, this is why podcasting is amazing.
Dave JacksonBecause not everybody needs that show, but the people that need that show need that show.
Ron EastwoodHi Dave, this is York from Welcome to Earth Stories.
Ron EastwoodThinking back on 2024, I have a lot of favorites.
Ron EastwoodI mean, I'm one of those people that listen to so many podcasts.
Ron EastwoodI mean, I'm subscribed to about 194 shows and to think about, well, which one is my favorite, that's difficult.
Ron EastwoodBut the show that gives me a lot of joy, gives me practical advice and makes me smile and that's Pod Tastic audio.
Ron EastwoodI've been listening since the very first episode until now.
Ron EastwoodAnd his show is just Incredible.
Ron EastwoodHe's sort of like my kindred spirit when it comes to audio because he's a purist, just like me.
Ron EastwoodHe gets into the weeds where he talks about microphones and just treating your room and making sure that your audio is right.
Ron EastwoodThat's what I like about his show.
Ron EastwoodIt's relatable.
Ron EastwoodHe's a cool dude and there is no pretense with him.
Ron EastwoodWhat you see is what you get.
Ron EastwoodAnd that's what I like about Chris.
Ron EastwoodAlso, sometimes he shares his personal life when he's not podcasting, because I like to hear that as well.
Ron EastwoodWhen I listen to certain shows, I.
Ron EastwoodI don't want to just hear about the topic at hand.
Ron EastwoodSome people just want to hear the facts, you know, just the facts, ma'am.
Ron EastwoodI like to hear things that are not even pertaining to the show.
Ron EastwoodEven when he's not doing his show, his social media feed, sometimes he throws in jokes here and there and he talks about his vacations and just personal things that's going on with him.
Ron EastwoodAnd it makes me even more, I guess, loyal to him as a podcaster, as a person.
Ron EastwoodJust that personal touch that he does.
Ron EastwoodThey say that content is king, but not all the time, because I could get the content somewhere else, but it's how Chris presents it.
Ron EastwoodHe's just a professional on the microphone and off of the microphone as well.
Ron EastwoodTo listen to his show, you could go on pawtasticaudio.com and for a totally different show, please check out welcome to Earth Stories.
Ron EastwoodMy show is like a cross between, well, let's put it this way.
Ron EastwoodSay, for instance, the Twilight Zone and Black Mirror had a baby.
Dave JacksonYork, I'm going to jump in here.
Dave JacksonThat is the coolest way to describe this show, because we kind of know what you know.
Dave JacksonThe Twilight Zone.
Dave JacksonAnd you measure them, you go like, wait, what if I put those together?
Dave JacksonWhat would it sound like?
Dave JacksonAnd that creates an information gap to where your brain goes, wait, what would that sound like?
Dave JacksonAnd you want to go over and click play, let's go back to York.
Ron EastwoodWell, that baby will be welcome to Earth Stories.
Ron EastwoodSo if you like sci fi audio on the crazy side, then listen to my show.
Ron EastwoodWe're going into season eight next year, and we've been doing this since 2017.
Ron EastwoodYou could check out all the details on my website at welcome to earthstories.com Merry Christmas, Dave, and thank you for everything that you do.
Dave JacksonThank you, York.
Dave JacksonYou can't see it, but when I hit play and heard your voice come out in my headphones, I was like, yes, it's York.
Dave JacksonHow cool.
Dave JacksonAnd Chris from Podtastic Audio go way back.
Dave JacksonI think he was on the podcast Rodeo Show.
Dave JacksonI kind of helped them.
Dave JacksonIt was Chris and Christine show, and when they first started out, I was kind of helping them out with that.
Dave JacksonAnd so it's always interesting to, to see the student, you know, emerge now and who is also helping people.
Dave JacksonSo very cool.
Ron EastwoodHello, this is Wolfman Mike of the 70s versus the 80s podcast.
Ron EastwoodAnd the one podcast that I never missed in 2024 was Beach Too sandy, Water too wet.
Ron EastwoodThis is the podcast where they read one star reviews over dramatic music.
Ron EastwoodSo they read Reviews from Yelp TripAdvisor for example.
Ron EastwoodRecently they just did reviews of holiday yard inflatables.
Ron EastwoodThey did reviews of snow shoveling services and reviews of trampoline parks.
Ron EastwoodI just really admire this podcast because they tapped into such a simple premise.
Ron EastwoodI mean, they have this never ending harvest of comedy gold because people always want the world to know exactly what they're thinking.
Ron EastwoodAnd they are more than happy to give a one star review to a cave tour because of the ambiance of the place.
Ron EastwoodSo I think everybody should check out that podcast.
Ron EastwoodIt's a brother and sister team.
Ron EastwoodThey've been on for a while now, and I think they're really starting to hit their stride.
Ron EastwoodAnd the shows always sound fresh.
Ron EastwoodAnd speaking of fresh, over at the 70s versus the 80s podcast, we just went through the holiday season.
Ron EastwoodSo for the Halloween episode, we did the song Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon and we tried to figure out why it was not in the movie American Werewolf in London.
Ron EastwoodFor the Thanksgiving episode, we talked about Turkeys Away by WKRP in Cincinnati.
Ron EastwoodWe decided that that was the greatest half hour in sitcom history.
Ron EastwoodBut then for Christmas, we did the 1978 Star Wars Holiday special, and we decided that might be the worst two hours in the history of television.
Ron EastwoodSo if these discussions aren't too controversial for you, you can always check us out at the 70s versus the 80s podcast where you can find us on Facebook and X Twitter.
Ron EastwoodAnd Dave.
Ron EastwoodYeah, I'm sorry, before you yell at me, our New Year's resolution is to get a webpage with a domain name.
Ron EastwoodEven got me convinced to go over to Captivate.
Ron EastwoodBut it's.
Ron EastwoodIt's baby steps, Dave.
Ron EastwoodIt's baby steps.
Ron EastwoodAnd I wish all the other podcasters out there good luck in 2025 and I hope you can take some baby steps with us.
Dave JacksonDude, I love this so much.
Dave JacksonThis does.
Dave JacksonIt makes my heart warm.
Dave JacksonThat is Podcasting.
Dave JacksonI love the fact one star reviews read over dramatic music.
Dave JacksonThis reminds me a lot of 2005.
Dave JacksonThis is the kind of wacky stuff people were doing that it's, it's kind of like we were trying to not be the radio and we were, you know, we weren't talking like this and it was crazy wacky stuff.
Dave JacksonJust to see if it would work was super creative.
Dave JacksonNow I'm not sure that we're as creative.
Dave JacksonMaybe we are.
Dave JacksonI'm just not aware of it.
Dave JacksonI mean, back in 2005, if there was a new podcast, all the other podcasters would know about it because there was only about 30 of us at the time.
Dave JacksonAnd Wolfman, see, when he says Wolfman, I expect him to sound like this baby, but it's.
Dave JacksonThat's a whole other wolf Man.
Dave JacksonAnd I got some trivia for you.
Dave JacksonDo you know who the first time one very young Jon Bon Jovi sang on an album, it was some sort of Star Wars Christmas album.
Dave JacksonAnd it was like something about R2D2 or something like that.
Dave JacksonI heard him talking about that, I think on the Hulu thing.
Dave JacksonBut thank you so much for the answer.
Dave JacksonThat, that made me laugh.
Dave JacksonThat literally that was lol.
Dave JacksonI was lolling, but sawing the scenes here.
Ron EastwoodHi Dave, my name is Harris and.
Dave JacksonMy favorite show for 2024 was Founders.
Dave JacksonThe website for that podcast is found@founderspodcast.com.
Ron EastwoodThe podcast is by David Senra, who has read 373 novels about the greatest business founders of all time.
Ron EastwoodEach episode is about a single book.
Ron EastwoodDavid takes about six hours to read the book.
Ron EastwoodHe then turns it into a one hour podcast and I play it at double spe.
Dave JacksonSo it only takes me half an.
Ron EastwoodHour to basically read a book.
Dave JacksonThat would have taken six hours after 373 of them.
Ron EastwoodI've learned a tremendous amount about the greatest founders.
Ron EastwoodIt's perhaps the greatest life hack I have found.
Dave JacksonAnd as a lifelong learner, my battle is to gain as much knowledge as.
Ron EastwoodI can with the amount of limited time that I have left on the planet.
Ron EastwoodAnd if I can consume 373 novels that I would have loved to read in only half an hour each, what greater way to gain knowledge quickly?
Ron EastwoodIn fact, there's so much information, it really should be a college course, because who better to learn from than the greatest founders?
Ron EastwoodAs for my podcast, I do a podcast about the law with my daughter Nicolette Cohen.
Ron EastwoodIt can be found at her law firm's website, Buckhalter b u C-H-A-L-T-E-R.com under the tab Nicolette.
Ron EastwoodThanks for all you do, Dave Harris.
Dave JacksonThank you so much.
Dave JacksonAnd if you heard it underneath there, he didn't come out and say it, but we all figured it out.
Dave JacksonThat guy is saving Harris a buttload of time and getting a lot of value.
Dave JacksonAnd so when you can save your audience time, they're going to thank you for that.
Dave JacksonThat's a huge bonus that you can deliver to your audience.
Dave JacksonThanks so much.
Ron EastwoodHey Dave and School of Podcasting listeners.
Dave JacksonIt'S Chris Nesse from not House of Ed Tech, but from a new podcast.
Ron EastwoodI started in 2024 with my wife Caitlin, Perpetual Syndication.
Ron EastwoodBefore I tell you about that, let me tell you about my favorite podcast in 2024 and it is a repeat and it is Al and Jerry's post game podcast.
Ron EastwoodAl and Jerry work on the Boomerang show on WFAN Sports Radio in New York City and their podcast is recorded after the radio show is over.
Ron EastwoodAnd they don't talk about sports.
Ron EastwoodAl and Jerry occasionally talk about things.
Dave JacksonThat happened on the Boomerangeo show, but.
Ron EastwoodThey mostly talk about how robots are taking over the world, rats are taking over New York City, and how most.
Dave JacksonOf the people that live in Florida are somewhat crazy.
Dave JacksonIt makes me laugh, it makes me.
Ron EastwoodThink, it entertains and sometimes it educates me and I just find it fascinating and I feel a connection with Al and Jerry.
Ron EastwoodSo I'm recommending Al and Jerry's post game podcast and the podcast I'm representing.
Dave JacksonHere is again Perpetual Syndication, a podcast.
Ron EastwoodI do with my wife where we watch classic TV shows one show at a time.
Dave JacksonWe are currently in our first season.
Ron EastwoodAnd we are re watching Home Improvement starring Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson.
Ron EastwoodWould love it.
Dave JacksonIf anybody in the school of podcasting.
Ron EastwoodAnd your community wants to check it out, you can find it at PerpetualSyndication TV.
Dave JacksonHappy New Year, Dave.
Dave JacksonAnd Happy New Year again to everybody in the school of Podcasting community.
Dave JacksonThere you go, Chris.
Dave JacksonThank you so much for that.
Dave JacksonAlways great to hear from Chris.
Dave JacksonMany moons ago, a member of the School of Podcasting and it's been fun watching Chris branch out with his House of Ed Tech.
Dave JacksonHe's like the king of ed tech now.
Dave JacksonAnd my favorite was for a while, I think his son was 7, his son was doing a podcast about vacuum cleaners because he was just obsessed with them.
Dave JacksonAnd so anytime I know Harris was doing a show with his daughter, anytime I hear about parents doing a podcast with her children, that's great.
Dave JacksonAnd now he's doing one with his wife.
Dave JacksonSo the the couple that.
Dave JacksonOh, I was going to say pod together, but I would want to smack my own self for that.
Dave JacksonI hate when people like shoehorn the word pot into stuff, but anybody that creates together relates together.
Dave JacksonThere you go.
Dave JacksonPoet didn't even know it.
Dave JacksonNext up, we got Lewis and he brought some production.
Ron EastwoodHi Dave, and thanks so much for giving me a chance to weigh in on my favorite podcast of 2024 while shamelessly promoting my own podcast.
Ron EastwoodThis is Lewis Goodman and my podcast is Love Thy Lawyer.
Ron EastwoodFind us at www.lovethy lawyer.com.
Ron Eastwoodwe interview judges, lawyers, mediators, investigators, the occasional police officer, and some legal business advisors.
Ron EastwoodBasically anyone who has some connection with the legal profession.
Ron EastwoodWe explore the lives of lawyers and their careers.
Ron EastwoodI'm a lawyer and many of my friends are lawyers and lawyers as a group are fun to talk with.
Ron EastwoodSo check out my podcast Love thy lawyer@lovethylawyer.com it's like love thy neighbor, but love thy lawyer.
Ron EastwoodAnd now to answer your question, the podcast that I really have found this year, have listened to and found so interesting and enjoyable is the Commentary Podcast and you can find that@www.complymented.org.
Ron Eastwoodi do not miss the Commentary Podcast.
Ron EastwoodFull disclosure, I'm a bit of a news and political junkie.
Ron EastwoodI live in Northern California.
Ron EastwoodI subscribe to the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, and several other center left publications.
Ron EastwoodFor a long time I've known about Commentary magazine, which has been around for some 75 years, but I'm not sure how I came to the podcast.
Ron EastwoodTheir view is center right with a New York Jewish flavor.
Ron EastwoodThese people are smart, funny, and unafraid to take on anyone.
Ron EastwoodThe independent point of view that they provide on news and politics and cultural matters is as refreshing as anything I've heard all year.
Ron EastwoodIf you want to hear some really smart people discussing the news of the day, check out the commentary podcast www.complymented.org and let me know what you think.
Ron EastwoodAnd that's really easy to do if you go to the Love Thy Lawyer website because you can message me right from there.
Ron EastwoodThanks Dave.
Ron EastwoodHappy New Year.
Dave JacksonThank you Louis.
Dave JacksonYeah, it's interesting if you think about if we just go back to let's go back to before I was around.
Dave JacksonIf you look at like the early 1960s, that's before my time.
Dave JacksonI know I'm old, but I'm not that old.
Dave JacksonBut Walter Cronkite.
Dave JacksonWalter Cronkite.
Dave JacksonBut it's like in the US like everybody got their news from like one dude.
Dave JacksonAnd now new shows are, you know, some are far right, some are far left.
Dave JacksonThen we talk about the no Agenda show.
Dave JacksonIt kind of just makes fun of everybody.
Dave JacksonAnd so it's interesting hearing how like I get half of my, some of my news.
Dave JacksonI get a lot of it from no Agenda.
Dave JacksonI'll talk about what my favorite show is here in a bit, but I also watch things like Last Week Tonight, which is definitely left leaning but hilarious and it talks about stuff that I go, why isn't this on the mainstream?
Dave JacksonAnd so again, going back to Kim Newlove, this is where local can really take off because nobody's govern it anymore.
Dave JacksonSo thanks guys.
Dave JacksonWe'll get to my favorite and a few others right after this.
Dave JacksonYeah, yeah, yeah.
Dave JacksonLet's send it over to the one and only Zita Christian.
Ron EastwoodEvery morning when I open my podcast app, I check to see if David Hooper has published a new episode of Build a Big Podcast.
Ron EastwoodIt's a marketing resource for those like me who want to grow their audience, establish themselves as an authority, and make money with their podcast.
Ron EastwoodI love this podcast because the content comes through the lens of a storyteller.
Ron EastwoodDavid talks about his career in radio and how he has had to deal with unreasonable agents, inebriated guests, and sometimes ethical dilemmas.
Ron EastwoodHe talks about how he handled those situations and he offers advice to podcasters in case we ever find ourselves in that same podcaster pickle.
Ron EastwoodDavid also shares personal stories that I suspect other podcasters might want to bury.
Ron EastwoodLike the time he had a panic attack on stage, or the time he finally got to interview his number one dream guest, Dolly Parton on Music Business Radio.
Ron EastwoodThe interview itself went great, and that's no surprise.
Ron EastwoodThat could have been the only part of the story that David later talked about on Build a Big Podcast.
Ron EastwoodInstead, he also shared the conversation he had with his producer while they were on standby for Dolly.
Ron EastwoodBecause that was also being recorded.
Ron EastwoodThere was no mistaking how nervous David was, how starstruck, and as listeners later heard in the produced interview, how thoroughly prepared.
Ron EastwoodI'm Zita Christian.
Ron EastwoodI have two podcasts on ritual recipes.
Ron EastwoodI share rituals for weddings, funerals and other rites of passage, as well as seasonal and goddess inspired rituals for spiritually minded women.
Ron EastwoodThat website is ritualrecipes.net on my other podcast, My Spouse Has Dementia.
Ron EastwoodI share personal stories, occasional interviews, and simple rituals to help family dementia caregivers survive because about 40% of us die first.
Ron EastwoodThat website is my spouse has dementia.com Dave, thanks for creating this community.
Ron EastwoodIt's great to be here.
Ron EastwoodAnd to everyone, Happy New Year.
Dave JacksonHappy New Year, Zita.
Dave JacksonAnd you will hear a because of my podcast story from Zita in next week's episode.
Dave JacksonBut David Hooper is a great guy.
Dave JacksonHe's been on this show.
Dave JacksonIf you want to hear about the Dolly Parton episode, go to schoolofpodcasting.com 904 I don't do these a lot, but on occasion I will hear an episode and then just dissect the crap out of it.
Dave JacksonAnd so that episode is kind of a miniseries called why Is this Great?
Dave JacksonAnd that was a great episode.
Dave JacksonAnd Dave is a great guy.
Dave JacksonShe mentioned how he brings in these stories.
Dave JacksonThat's a classic example of making a point with a personal story to where people then feel like they know you.
Dave JacksonSo if you haven't checked out the podcast, check it out.
Dave JacksonAnd also the book is great because it's a great book and it's a weapon, like you could take somebody out.
Dave JacksonIt is a thick book, but it's an easy read.
Dave JacksonAnd yeah, David Hooper, always a great choice.
Dave JacksonOne of my favorite people, got to be a roommate with him once, many, many moons ago, I think.
Dave JacksonA podcast movement.
Dave JacksonCraig Wieland, you're up buddy.
Ron EastwoodMy podcast of the year for 2024 is a podcast called the Bugle.
Ron EastwoodB U G L E the Bugle, the tagline is an audio newspaper for a visual world.
Ron EastwoodIt's a satirical news podcast and it's hosted by a British guy called Andy Zaltzman.
Ron EastwoodHe has guest comedians come on to join him.
Ron EastwoodRecently he's had John Oliver on the show and every week they look at what's happening in the world and they comment on it from a satirical, humorous point of view.
Ron EastwoodThere is obviously a British angle to the podcast, but they do cover stories from all over the world and they also have comedians and social commentators come on the show from all over the world, from India, the us, Australia, everywhere.
Ron EastwoodWhy do I like it so much?
Ron EastwoodSome of the episodes are hilariously funny, laugh out loud funny as far as I'm concerned.
Ron EastwoodAnd all of the episodes talk about what been happening in the world in a light, conversational, entertaining way.
Ron EastwoodAnd that keeps me informed and it keeps me entertained.
Ron EastwoodIt's not a podcast for everyone, but if you enjoy satire and silly comments on what are quite normally fairly depressing world events, this podcast definitely might be for you.
Ron EastwoodHappy new year to one and all and all the best for you.
Ron Eastwood2025 my name's Craig from English podcast.com and we help non native speakers improve their English.
Dave JacksonThank you so much, Craig.
Dave JacksonAnd that this for me is what I'm going to go listen to.
Dave JacksonThat's exactly what I love.
Dave JacksonAgain, everything will be out@schoolofpodcasting.com 964.
Dave JacksonNow this next one is.
Dave JacksonAnd when this happened, I was like, oh no.
Dave JacksonOh no.
Dave JacksonRon Eastwood sent me his as a text message, you know, email.
Dave JacksonAnd I was like, oh, oh no.
Dave JacksonHe does.
Dave JacksonLet's see.
Dave JacksonI do have a podcast.
Dave JacksonOh, I don't have a podcast.
Dave JacksonThat's why he sent me a message, an email.
Dave JacksonThat makes sense.
Dave JacksonSo what I did was, rather than listen to me read it, well, let's let 11 labs read it for him.
Dave JacksonSo for the record, this is not Ron Eastwood.
Dave JacksonThis is.
Dave JacksonThis is a just in this case, it's Andre who is known for his smooth audiobooks at 11 labs.
Dave JacksonAnd so this is not Ron Eastwood, but it's.
Dave JacksonIt's a robot doing a pretty good job of reading Ron's email to me.
Ron EastwoodMy favorite podcast of the past year is the Truce podcast hosted by Chris Starron.
Ron EastwoodYou can find that@ trucepodcast.com his tagline says, this is the show that uses journalistic tools to look inside the Christian church to explore how we got here and how we can do better.
Ron EastwoodWhy do I love it?
Ron EastwoodI grew up in the influence of conservative Christianity and the religious right.
Ron EastwoodIt was not drummed into me, but more like the waters that I swam in.
Ron EastwoodTruce is examining historical events and I am finding that there is more to history than I was taught or chose to remember.
Ron EastwoodAnd this year, a lot of the content has been events that I lived through.
Ron EastwoodAnd I am finding there was a lot of things I missed in my understanding.
Ron EastwoodBesides the content itself, Chris does an amazing job of keeping it from becoming dry by mixing in sound effects, other voices, and sometimes settings where he is recording.
Ron EastwoodAnd don't worry, Chris does all this without becoming political.
Ron EastwoodLike Sergeant Joe Friday.
Ron EastwoodHe just wants the facts.
Ron EastwoodI would recommend Truce for anyone who grew up in the church.
Ron EastwoodAs for me, I am probably a unicorn in your audience.
Ron EastwoodI don't have a podcast and don't aspire to have one.
Ron EastwoodI am a broadcaster, part of the Mornings with Brian team on WCRF in Cleveland.
Ron EastwoodYou can find us@moodyradio.org Cleveland or on the Moody Radio app.
Ron EastwoodWe try each morning to discuss today's issues from a biblical perspective.
Ron EastwoodNot just news, but family issues, relationships, personal finance, and whatever else pops up.
Dave JacksonThank you, Ron.
Dave JacksonOr in this case, again, everyone that is not really Ron.
Dave JacksonThat is Robo Ron.
Dave JacksonAnd it's not even like I didn't clone his voice.
Dave JacksonI just was like, hey, let's let this read that.
Dave JacksonAnd I appreciate that.
Dave JacksonAnd I've actually met Chris.
Dave JacksonI got to talk to him a fair amount at the Spark Christian Podcast Conference.
Dave JacksonAnd if you haven't heard, Misty is no longer going to do that.
Dave JacksonShe's moving in a different direction.
Dave JacksonAnd so that's going to leave a hole in the Christian podcast conference sphere or whatever.
Dave JacksonSo if you've ever thought of maybe I should do a conference for Christian podcasters, there's a need for that because we're all kind of going like, we support Misty because I'm here to tell you, anybody that does any kind of meetup, any kind of conference, that is a huge amount of work.
Dave JacksonAnd I know the last two years it just about like took her out.
Dave JacksonIt's just an amazing amount of stress.
Dave JacksonIt's a great conference and I thank her so much for that.
Dave JacksonI'm so thankful that I can say I went to every, you know, Spark conference, but those are at this point, you know, on the back burner coming back ever.
Dave JacksonWe'll see.
Dave JacksonBut right now, no.
Dave JacksonYeah, yeah, yeah.
Dave JacksonWell, here's something I've never done in the past because, well, it didn't really exist.
Dave JacksonSo I just exported all of those answers, had it transcribed using Otter AI, copied that and pasted it into Chat GPT.
Dave JacksonAnd what was my exact prompt?
Dave JacksonI said, so I asked some people what their favorite podcast was, but the main part it was looking for was why it was their favorite.
Dave JacksonI had their answers transcribed.
Dave JacksonHere are the answers and then I pasted the transcription and the thing I actually asked was, can you summarize their answers into a paragraph about why some podcasts resonate with their audience?
Dave JacksonAnd here's what Chad GPT said.
Dave JacksonIt said podcasts resonate with listeners when they offer unique content, connect personally and serve a clear purpose.
Dave JacksonShows like the Stacking Benjamin show captivate with their creative, light hearted approach to complex topics like finance.
Dave JacksonOne no agenda intrigues by analyzing global media narratives with humor and insight.
Dave JacksonPersonal connection is key, as seen with Ask the Podcast Coach, where live interactions foster a loyal community, or podtastic Audio, where the host's relatable personality and behind the scenes glimpses build trust.
Dave JacksonSome listeners value educational depth and efficiency, like Founders, which distills biographies into actionable lessons.
Dave JacksonHaven't used the word distills a lot lately, but that's just me continuing on.
Dave JacksonOthers gravitate toward a niche or local content like the Erectile dysfunction radio podcast, addressing sensitive issues with professionalism, or, and here's the interesting part, the Perrysburg Podcast, offering hyper local insights.
Dave JacksonBecause, I mean, it picked that up, but that wasn't one of the whys, like, you know what I mean?
Dave JacksonSo that's interesting.
Dave JacksonHumor and originality also shine with beach too sandy, water too wet, turning one star reviews into comedic entertainment.
Dave JacksonUltimately, podcasts resonate when they balance entertainment value and authenticity, making audiences feel informed, inspired, or simply connected.
Dave JacksonI'm going to keep that last line.
Dave JacksonUltimately, podcasts resonate when they balance entertainment value and authenticity.
Dave JacksonThat is the word for 2025 in my book, making audiences feel informed, inspired, or simply connected.
Dave JacksonSo that's why I always say if you can make a point in your show with a personal story.
Dave JacksonYou heard how York was talking about how he feels like he knows Chris because he shares part of his life.
Dave JacksonAnd I'm like, that's awesome.
Dave JacksonHe kind of made it sound like there are times when Chris is just like, hey, I had French toast today.
Dave JacksonThat's not really my jam.
Dave JacksonBut hey, sometimes people want to know what kind of jam you're putting on that French toast or whatever it is.
Dave JacksonSo it's.
Dave JacksonIt's something you can't get anyplace else.
Dave JacksonAnd in some cases, it can save you time.
Dave JacksonI mentioned AI Goes to College.
Dave JacksonThat's my buddy, Craig Van Slyke.
Dave JacksonAnd I was talking to him, I go, man, I can't keep up with all these AI tools.
Dave JacksonAnd he's like, yeah, that's why you need to listen to my show.
Dave JacksonAnd so again, sometimes you save people time.
Dave JacksonYou're serving their audience, and that's the value.
Dave JacksonSo I thought that was rather interesting.
Dave JacksonI've been.
Dave JacksonI definitely use more chat, GPT and perplexity than I have in the past three months.
Dave JacksonSo now what the heck is my favorite show and why?
Dave JacksonAnd I'm gonna cheat because I made you pick one.
Dave JacksonI'll just give you some.
Dave JacksonSome honorable mentions.
Dave JacksonAnd the one was really interesting.
Dave JacksonThe other night, I went out and saw a movie, the Fire Inside, about this female boxer.
Dave JacksonIf you haven't seen it, definitely see it when it comes on streaming.
Dave JacksonGreat story.
Dave JacksonBut I'm driving home and it's raining and it's dark.
Dave JacksonAnd this makes me sound like I'm old, but I hate driving in the rain at night.
Dave JacksonAnd it dawned on me.
Dave JacksonI hated that when I was in my 20s, but I was kind of, you know, you're gripping the.
Dave JacksonThe wheel A little more.
Dave JacksonAnd I put on Bandrew says with Bandrew Scott.
Dave JacksonAnd what was interesting is I tune into Bandrew to hear about YouTube and Mike stuff, and he was not talking about any of that stuff.
Dave JacksonHe was talking about his favorite movies, his favorite music.
Dave JacksonAnd Bandrew and I, I feel, have a lot in common.
Dave JacksonWe both kind of like dark humor, we both play the guitar.
Dave JacksonWe both self deprecate on a regular basis.
Dave JacksonAnd it was kind of like letting in my friend, my very talkative friend.
Dave JacksonAnd he sat in the front seat and just started telling me about all his favorite stuff and it really chilled me out.
Dave JacksonSo is the Bandrew says podcast my favorite?
Dave JacksonBut no, it was an interesting experiment.
Dave JacksonAnd again, I feel like I know Bandrew even though you know that I know that I know that you know that I don't really know him.
Dave JacksonI know what Bandrew does behind the mic and it makes me laugh and it informs me.
Dave JacksonSo there's that.
Dave JacksonAnd then the show I listen to the most every day.
Dave JacksonI start off with Pod News podnews.net with James Kridlin.
Dave JacksonI hear that before I get out of bed.
Dave JacksonThat is almost my alarm clock.
Dave JacksonBasically, I have your flash briefing from the woman in the tube from Amazon.
Dave JacksonI have it set up to play that.
Dave JacksonIt gives me the weather, tells me what is going on, and then James come on.
Dave JacksonAnd then I think I get a Bible verse or something like that.
Dave JacksonSo is that my favorite show?
Dave JacksonNo, but definitely the most listened to.
Dave JacksonAnd I like the extended dance version that is Pod News Weekly with Sam Sethi.
Dave JacksonGreat show.
Dave JacksonAnd I'm actually supporting that show monetarily because it's a great show.
Dave JacksonSo what's your favorite show, Dave?
Dave JacksonAnd I think I'm gonna go.
Dave JacksonAnd this might be because it's not a podcast about podcasting, because that's what I listen to 95% of the time.
Dave JacksonAnd that show is no agenda.
Dave JacksonAnd I think there are a couple things.
Dave JacksonNumber one, I've been listening for many years now, and so I feel like I know those guys.
Dave JacksonI also know the host or one of them.
Dave JacksonI know Adam Curry in kind of a.
Dave JacksonLike, know him in a showbiz kind of way.
Dave JacksonLike, he knows me.
Dave JacksonI know him.
Dave JacksonGot to hang out with him at a conference, at the Spark conference.
Dave JacksonGot to meet his wife, so we're aware of each other.
Dave JacksonGot to appear with him on stage.
Dave JacksonThat was great.
Dave JacksonSo it's always great to hear Adam.
Dave JacksonAnd I go back with Adam back to 2005.
Dave JacksonHe was the first podcast I ever Heard which was, we don't need no stinking transmitters.
Dave JacksonThe daily source code.
Dave JacksonAnd so the reason I like this show is I hate the media.
Dave JacksonBasically think it's crap.
Dave JacksonI think right now the NFL is putting on a classic example of how to just cheese off your audience because it's hard to find their product.
Dave JacksonTheir product isn't very good.
Dave JacksonNetflix made $150 million to have football, American Football Roy on Netflix.
Dave JacksonAnd the games were awful.
Dave JacksonAnd now you have to pay to see more games.
Dave JacksonAnd I'm.
Dave JacksonI just think in the next five to 10 years, we're going to see the NFL kind of maybe have to think about how they treat their fans.
Dave JacksonSo in general.
Dave JacksonAnd I like when I watch the news and they're like, hey, our top story this morning is, hey, the new red cup is out from Starbucks.
Dave JacksonI'm like, do you think I don't know that's a commercial?
Dave JacksonAnd when I hear them say things like, bird flu is up by, you know, 48%, I'm like, yeah, but how many people is that?
Dave JacksonBecause if you have two people and you go up to, I don't know, four.
Dave JacksonNever do math, by the way, live.
Dave JacksonBut that could be 40 something percent.
Dave JacksonIt's just the media just so.
Dave JacksonI love the fact that the no Agenda show takes it, deconstructs it, and they'll point out things like, hey, like they just put out an episode and it was interesting about.
Dave JacksonIt was just clips about COVID which has been, you know, four years ago.
Dave JacksonAnd you forget all the weird reports that we were going through because we didn't know what we're going through.
Dave JacksonBut that was interesting.
Dave JacksonAnd they put that out because they were on a vacation.
Dave JacksonBut I like the show and there are parts of it I really don't like, but this is the ultimate value for value show.
Dave JacksonAnd I actually give them $11.11 every month because I like their show.
Dave JacksonAnd they will.
Dave JacksonThen they have a section where they thank the people that made the artwork for each episode.
Dave JacksonAnd I'm listening in my car.
Dave JacksonI'm not looking at the artwork.
Dave JacksonI don't care about that.
Dave JacksonBut that's okay.
Dave JacksonI understand that that artwork can help them get found.
Dave JacksonAnd so those people that make the artwork are on Team no Agenda, and so am I.
Dave JacksonAnd then the thing that makes them the best is all these people watching.
Dave JacksonAnd then if you donate, like they have people in episodes donate a thousand dollars.
Dave JacksonAnd maybe donate is not the right word.
Dave JacksonI can hear my buddy Ralph going, quit saying donate.
Dave JacksonYou have to Be a nonprofit to do that.
Dave JacksonBut you get the idea.
Dave JacksonAnd they'll have literally people donate hundreds of dollars and in some cases thousands of dollars.
Dave JacksonWell, that's a part that for me, although they can make it very entertaining, they play a lot of sound clips on that and sound effects that can be somewhat entertaining, but at times not so much.
Dave JacksonBut I'm getting an idea of the news that I need to pay attention to because the right is too far right, the left is too far left.
Dave JacksonAnd they make fun of both of them and in an entertaining way.
Dave JacksonAnd it's can be at times two hours long.
Dave JacksonAnd I still at times go, oh, it's over.
Dave JacksonBecause I will fast forward through the parts that I don't like.
Dave JacksonBut it's.
Dave JacksonIt's serving me.
Dave JacksonIt's.
Dave JacksonIt's saving me a lot of time by not watching the news.
Dave JacksonAnd I know if there's.
Dave JacksonBecause I come out on Thursday and Sunday, so I've noticed something comes out on Tuesday.
Dave JacksonIf it's really important, they'll talk about it on Thursday.
Dave JacksonAnd if they don't talk about it, well, it wasn't that important.
Dave JacksonSo it's an interesting play.
Dave JacksonAnd then I also, like I said, I watch last week, tonight, and things like that.
Dave JacksonSo that's my favorite show.
Dave JacksonAnd I think the reason why is a.
Dave JacksonIt's information I can't get anyplace else because nobody else is giving me, you know, the headlines from Holland and, you know, Australia and Switzerland and Denmark.
Dave JacksonAnd I'm feeling like a very stupid American that's geographically challenged right now.
Dave JacksonAnd so I can't get that anyplace else.
Dave JacksonAnd they do it in a fun, entertaining way.
Dave JacksonThey have a lot of jingles and there's jargon over there.
Dave JacksonYou'll.
Dave JacksonYou meet somebody from no Agenda.
Dave JacksonThey'll go, oh, in the morning, that's like their greeting when.
Dave JacksonThat's like their inside joke.
Dave JacksonIn fact, there are times when they will get on the news, like they will be like a call in person, you know, live from Peoria, we have Brendan.
Dave JacksonAnd it's like, hey, you know, Larry, in the morning, I have a question.
Dave JacksonAnd they don't.
Dave JacksonIt's just this weird greeting.
Dave JacksonAnd it's.
Dave JacksonIt's the way.
Dave JacksonIt's their secret handshake that if you ever hear somebody on the radio or on TV start off with hey, in the morning.
Dave JacksonAnd then they go under their thing.
Dave JacksonThat's their way of saying, I'm a no Agenda lister, which is kind of cute in a way, but that's why?
Dave JacksonIt's my favorite.
Dave JacksonAnd I want to thank everyone who chimed in on this.
Dave JacksonI want to say hey to Tim.
Dave JacksonTim, I'm going to throw your thing in next week.
Dave JacksonTim unfortunately sent me the Hindenburg file and not the finished MP3, which is not the first person to do that, by the way.
Dave JacksonAnd I just don't have time to.
Dave JacksonTo get this in.
Dave JacksonI've got my schedule and I got to get this out.
Dave JacksonAnd so we'll get that in there.
Dave JacksonBut it's out at school of podcasting.com 964.
Dave JacksonBecause I'm definitely going to go listen to some of these.
Dave JacksonI was like, oh, I got to go check that out.
Dave JacksonAnd as we wrap up this episode, I do want to thank everyone who listens to this show.
Dave JacksonAnd because there are ways you can support this show, right?
Dave JacksonYou give me your time.
Dave JacksonI appreciate that some of you give me your talent by chiming in on the show.
Dave JacksonI love that some of you give me your treasure and become members of the school of Podcasting.
Dave JacksonOr you'll buy me a coffee or.
Dave JacksonAnd I always love when I see this, if somebody's in a Facebook group or Reddit and somebody goes, hey, like, I'm looking for a coach or a consultant.
Dave JacksonI need somebody who's not going to, you know, sell me a bunch of hui, as my grandma used to say, for three easy payments, you know, and somebody goes, oh, man, you got to listen to Dave Jackson School of Podcasting.
Dave JacksonWhen I see that, that always makes my heart go pitter patter.
Dave JacksonAnd I appreciate everyone who's put me out there as the guy to come listen to.
Dave JacksonI see that, and I appreciate that more than I can probably say right now.
Dave JacksonThat always makes me feel good.
Dave JacksonMy ego loves that, you know, we're gonna be honest.
Dave JacksonMy ego's like, yeah, we're number one.
Dave JacksonSo thanks, everybody.
Dave JacksonI look forward to 2025.
Dave JacksonI will be doing things with video more in the future, not because I'm going to use my YouTube channel to promote my audio channel, because I don't really think that works.
Dave JacksonI know there were reports that came out that people do combine both and they'll start listening on YouTube.
Dave JacksonHere's.
Dave JacksonHere's the point.
Dave JacksonThis is a new one.
Dave JacksonSo many people say, well, the thing with YouTube is people will turn on your video and then just listen to it in their pocket.
Dave JacksonAnd so here's something to think about.
Dave JacksonSo you're going to go buy a bunch of lights, you're going to start showering, you might put on some makeup, maybe shave a little so that you can be on video, so that these people that are pushing the numbers saying that, you know, podcasts are booming on YouTube so that those people cannot look at you while they listen.
Dave JacksonI'm like, that's something that went, hmm, there's.
Dave JacksonThere's something to think about when you're doing video, when you're, you know, combing your hair and everything else.
Dave JacksonI'm doing this so somebody cannot watch me.
Dave JacksonThat's interesting.
Dave JacksonSo with that, I will say again, I deeply appreciate you taking time to listen to me this year.
Dave JacksonAnytime you have feedback, I'm always open for that.
Dave JacksonIn fact, let me say this because I didn't mention it this week.
Dave JacksonIf you haven't taken the audience survey, I made it for you.
Dave JacksonSo you can help me make this show better for you.
Dave JacksonGo to schoolofpodcasting.com survey and then click on the button, you can take the survey.
Dave JacksonIt's less than probably two minutes, and I'm doing that to make a better show for you.
Dave JacksonSo thank you so much.
Dave JacksonHappy New Year.
Dave JacksonTake care.
Dave JacksonGod bless.
Dave JacksonClass is dismissed.
Ron EastwoodIf you like what you hear, then go tell somebody.
Ron EastwoodIf you like what you hear.
Dave JacksonThere is as much creativity because everybody's like, how can I start a true crime show and make do as little as amount of money crap.
Dave JacksonMy brain and my mouth have gone home for the day.
Dave JacksonThat's because Alexa just told me it's midnight.
Dave JacksonWell, I should probably hit stop.
